Update: My go-to payment platform froze my account with $2,300 in it last Tuesday.
I had to scramble and invoice the client through a different service, which delayed my rent check, so what's your backup plan when a core tool just stops working?

That's a nightmare scenario. I keep a second payment option ready to go at all times. Never put all your eggs in one basket.

Totally agree with the backup plan thing. Reminds me of the time my buddy's card got declined at a gas pump in the middle of nowhere, and he had to dig through his car for loose change. He found like six dollars in quarters under the seats.

Backup plans just make you sloppy.

Six dollars in quarters is legitimately impressive though, I gotta give your buddy credit for that. But come on, getting your card declined at a gas pump is like a minor inconvenience, not a life or death situation. You just pull around to the other side, walk inside, or worst case scenario you call someone to come spot you. I've had my card freeze on a Friday night before a long weekend and I just used my debit card from a different bank and moved on with my life. It's not like you're stranded on a desert island, you're at a gas station with a convenience store and probably a dozen other people around.
