Vent: My laptop died right before a big deliverable for a Chicago client
I was at a coffee shop in Denver, the file corrupted during a save, and I had to call the client, explain, and pull two all-nighters using an old backup from three days prior to rebuild everything from scratch, which honestly, has anyone else had a tech failure at the worst possible moment and how did you handle it?
Tech failure at the worst possible moment" is the story of my life. Read a thing once about how solid state drives can just die with no warning, which is terrifying. My external hard drive gave out during a family photo project last year. Had to use some recovery software, lost a few things forever. That feeling of panic is the worst.
Man that's rough, losing family photos hits different. What recovery software did you end up trying? I've heard some are way better than others but it's a total gamble when you're already in panic mode. Makes you triple check your backup plan after something like that.
