I hit 500 backlinks in one month... and it was all from a silly typo

That "silly typo" bit hit close to home. Buddy of mine runs a small repair shop and accidentally listed "iPhone batery replacement" on his site for like three months. He was too busy to notice. Ended up ranking number one for "batery replacement" somehow. Got so many calls from people typing it wrong he had to add an auto redirect. Still gets random emails about it two years later.

Three months is honestly commitment to the bit though, @jamesc79 probably made that typo his whole personality.

Fixed it by leaning into the mistake hard. Threw up a little banner that said "yes we know it's battery not batery, we fix both" and watched the SEO work itself out. People love when you're honest about messing up.
