Just tried a 'quick' backlink service I found online for a client's site
It was only $50, but it triggered a manual action penalty from Google within two weeks. I learned that cheap shortcuts can cost you months of recovery work. Has anyone else had to clean up a penalty from a bad link source?

See this everywhere with cheap contractors too. They cut corners and you end up paying double to fix their mess.

A blog post I read called those services "penalty delivery systems." The writer said Google's spam team has gotten really good at spotting the patterns of these cheap link networks. They don't just ignore the links, they actively punish the sites that buy them. It's brutal because the disavow process is slow and never a sure thing. You're basically stuck hoping Google accepts your apology after they caught you cheating.

Yeah, those cheap services are a total trap. They blast out spam from terrible sites that Google catches instantly. It's always more expensive to fix than just doing it right the first time.
