My neighbor, who runs a small bakery, asked me if SEO is just about keywords now
He said he heard from a podcast that Google's looking more at 'helpful content' and real answers, which made me rethink my whole checklist approach. What's the one thing you've changed in your process because of this shift?

Honestly, it's not that deep. People just swapped their keyword lists for a "helpful content" checklist and call it a new strategy. The basics of answering questions clearly still matter most.

Stopped using checklists and just wrote like I was explaining it to a friend.

Totally agree. It feels like a lot of people just treat "helpful content" as a new box to tick, not a real change in how they write. The core goal should still be to actually solve someone's problem without all the extra fluff. If the answer isn't clear and useful, no checklist in the world is going to fix it.

That thing Joseph said about "explaining it to a friend" is exactly what I've been telling people at the bakery supply shop I go to. They keep asking me if their croissants are "SEO friendly" and I'm like, no, you just need to tell me why your sourdough actually tastes better than the grocery store stuff. It's the same pattern everywhere now - everyone wants a shortcut or a new box to check instead of just being useful. People remember the baker who told them why their bread won't rise, not the one with the most keyword-stuffed description.
