Picked up a free SEO plugin at a WordCamp that cut my site load time by 40%
I was at the Atlanta WordCamp last summer, just wandering the vendor hall, when some guy handed me a flash drive with this lightweight SEO plugin on it. Has anyone else stumbled onto a free tool at a conference that actually outperformed the paid stuff?

Ha, seriously? A free plugin from a conference beat out the paid stuff? That's like finding a twenty in an old jacket. I've had zero luck with anything I grabbed at WordCamps, usually it's just junk or a sales pitch. But a 40% speed bump is no joke, I'd be chugging coffee all day over that win. Guess it proves you can't judge a plugin by its price tag.

@lisab32 I picked up a similar free plugin at a dev meetup once and it turned out to be a hidden gem. The trick is to test everything on a staging site first before you commit to it for real. One good find can save you a ton of time and money compared to the paid options.
