PSA: That $200 'done for you' backlink package is a total scam
I got suckered into buying one of those 'premium' backlink bundles from a guy on a freelancing platform last quarter. He promised 50 high authority links from real news sites, all white hat. Paid upfront, $200. What I got was a spreadsheet with 50 links, sure, but they were all from the same three garbage PBNs that looked like they were built in 2010. I checked the domains and their DA was like 15, not the 50+ he advertised. Worse, one of the sites got deindexed by Google two weeks later. I had to spend hours disavowing the whole mess. It set my client's site back at least a month. Has anyone actually found a legit and affordable backlink service, or is it all just smoke and mirrors?

Found a guy on BHW who does real guest posts... $80 each.

Eighty bucks is a LOT for a maybe. Seen those BHW sellers use the same tired PBNs everyone else has. You gotta check the actual site traffic and if the links even stick. Could be burning cash on a ghost town page.

Wait 80 bucks a pop for guest posts? That actually got me to stop scrolling. I thought $200 for a whole package was already a bad deal but $80 for one link that might not even be real?
I mean I get it, you pay for quality but that's still a gamble. You have to hope the guy is actually pitching real sites with real traffic and not just another PBN ring. I've seen people pay that much and end up with a link on a site that gets 50 visitors a month from the owner's mom.
And the thing is even if the site looks okay, you still have to check the traffic yourself. Some of those sellers use expired domains that had good metrics but the content is just repurposed junk. So you're basically paying for the link and doing the work of vetting it yourself, which defeats the whole purpose of paying someone else. Total ripoff.

Reminds me of the time I paid a guy to "build relationships" with bloggers. He just left spammy comments with my link on old WordPress blogs. @victor651 mentioning guest posts for $80 is about the going rate for something real, but you still have to check the site yourself. A lot of those sellers just have a list of low quality sites that accept anything for cash. The real work is finding the sites that actually fit your topic and have real readers, which nobody is doing for that price. You basically end up paying for the link and then doing all the vetting work anyway.
