Showerthought: I just blew $500 on a 'done-for-you' backlink package that got my site flagged
The provider used spammy PBNs and now my main client's site traffic dropped 40% in two weeks, so has anyone found a legit link building service that actually works?

Man that is the worst feeling... had the same thing happen last year with a "premium" service. Spent months trying to clean up the mess they made, and the rankings never fully came back. It's so hard to trust anyone now. Honestly I just gave up on buying links and started doing the outreach myself, even though it's slow. At least I know where the links are coming from.

Yeah, doing it yourself is the only way to be sure. I learned that lesson the hard way too, and now I just put in the slow, steady work. The peace of mind is worth the extra time.

That "premium" service thing hits way too close to home... what kind of mess did they leave for you to clean up? I'm always curious about the specifics, like if they used those awful PBNs or just spammed garbage directories. It feels like the cleanup is almost harder than just starting from scratch.

The worst part is it's the same story with plumbers, mechanics, and even that "premium" lawn service my neighbor uses. Everyone promises the world then leaves a bigger mess than when they started. You end up paying twice - once for the damage and once for the fix. At some point you just learn that most people cut corners unless you're watching them every second. Hard lesson but once you see the pattern it's everywhere.
