Warning: A client meeting in a Chicago coffee shop made me ditch my whole content plan.

They straight up said 'I don't care about your 2,000 word blog posts, I just need the phone to ring.' Now I only write stuff that directly answers local search questions. Anyone else get hit with a reality check like that?

Yeah, I heard a podcast say most people just want a quick answer to their problem. So maybe short posts that solve one thing are the way to go?

But what about building trust first?

Wait, is the trust thing really separate from giving them what they want upfront? I feel like trust comes from showing you actually get their problem, not from having a bunch of fancy testimonials or credentials. When someone lands on your site and sees a quick answer that actually helps them, that builds way more trust than any generic "about us" page ever could. Quick useful content IS the trust builder, not a replacement for it. So maybe the short posts answer and build trust at the same time without you having to choose between them.

Exactly, I switched to short FAQ pages that answer local questions and calls went up fast.
