Appreciation post: My accountant saved me $800 on my quarterly taxes
I was trying to do my own taxes for my freelance writing and missed a bunch of home office deductions I could take. My accountant, who I pay $200 a year, found them and saved me a huge chunk of money I was about to send off. How do you guys handle tax stuff, do you do it yourself or pay someone?

So what kind of home office stuff did you miss that added up to that much? I always worry I'm forgetting something simple like the internet bill.

Honestly I forgot the internet bill for three months straight. Tbh I also counted my daily coffee as a business expense for a while, which my accountant said was a bit of a stretch. Ngl the real killer was all the random software subscriptions I forgot to cancel. It's the small stuff that really sneaks up on you.

Yeah Sarah, the software subscriptions are the real budget killers in my experience.
