PSA: I was sending invoices on the 1st of the month for years, and it was killing my cash flow.
A client in Seattle finally told me last week that their accounting team doesn't even look at bills until the 15th, so my invoice was just sitting there. I switched to sending mine on the 10th and got paid in 5 days instead of 30. What's the best day you've found to send your invoices?

Read a blog post once that said asking clients about their payment cycle is a game changer. It makes so much sense to just sync up with their schedule instead of guessing. What day works for your main clients?

I mean, is it really that big of a deal? Most of my clients just pay whenever they get the invoice, idk if a specific day matters.

@sarah_davis I mean yeah it actually is a big deal though, at least in my experience. I used to just send invoices whenever I felt like it and half the time I'd be waiting weeks for no reason. Started asking clients straight up "yo when do your accounting folks look at this stuff" and it changed everything. One of my biggest clients told me they batch process on the 20th so I adjusted and now I'm getting paid in like a week instead of a month. It's wild how much of a difference a specific day makes when you actually sync up with their system. Seriously just try asking one client what day works best for them and you'll see what I mean.
