Read an old thread from 2018 about freelancers charging $50/hr and almost spit out my coffee

Saw someone in a 2018 forum post bragging they charged $50 an hour for copywriting, and now I can't even get out of bed for less than $90. Has anyone else had to basically double their rates just to keep up with rent?

$50 an hour was actually high for most freelance copywriters back in 2018, the typical rate was closer to $30-$40. Your rent isn't wrong though, a lot of us have had to bump rates way up just to stay afloat.

$50 was actually rare even back then lol most were fighting for $25-$35
