Warning: My old laptop charger died during a final edit for a $500 article last week
I was working from a coffee shop in Springfield and the whole thing just went dark... I had to scramble to find a backup. Has anyone else had a piece of gear fail at the worst possible moment?

Man, I feel this one. I started keeping a spare charger in my laptop bag after my old one died at 11pm the night before a big deadline (found out the hard way that hotel front desks don't have laptop chargers laying around).

Funny how the cheapest part can wreck the most important thing. Like a ten cent fuse blowing to kill a fridge full of food, or a two dollar ink cartridge stopping a whole printer when you need to sign a document. The whole system depends on that one weak link giving out at exactly the wrong time.

It's wild how the weakest piece always seems to fail under pressure. Like a tiny plastic clip holding a car's bumper on, you hit one pothole and the whole thing drags on the highway. Or the free app you need for work that crashes right before a deadline because of one weird update. The whole design almost banks on that cheap part breaking first.
