Why does nobody talk about the noise at the Seattle coworking space I tried?

I went to the WeWork in Seattle's Belltown area last Tuesday to check it out for editing. The open floor plan looked great online, but the echo from all the hard surfaces made it impossible to hear anything on my own headphones. A guy next to me was on a loud zoom call about a $500 project, and it just bounced off the walls. I ended up leaving after 30 minutes and working from my car. Has anyone else had this problem with specific coworking spots?

Walked into the same spot last month and noped out in under 15 minutes. That echo off the concrete floors and glass walls is brutal for editing. Felt like I was inside a tin can trying to focus.

Wait, was that the new place on 5th with the big windows? I actually had a similar experience at a coworking space last year that looked great in photos but was basically an echo chamber. @brian_hart you're totally right about the editing part, I was trying to piece together a podcast episode and every time I spoke it felt like my voice was bouncing off everything around me. The worst part was I could hear someone typing three desks away like they were right next to me. I ended up just packing up and working from a quiet coffee shop down the street instead. It's wild how these spaces look so modern but forget simple stuff like carpet or acoustic panels.

@brian_hart that tin can description is too real... who thought glass and concrete was a good idea for focus work. must've been some architect who never had to edit anything in their life.
