Just read that a dedicated workspace can boost freelance income by over 20%

I found this stat in a report from a university study I was skimming yesterday, and it honestly surprised me. I always thought my couch setup was fine, but maybe having a real desk area does more than I realized. Has anyone else seen a real change after setting up a proper spot to work?

That stat sounds about right. My focus was all over the place until I cleared off a corner of the dining table just for work stuff. It's less about the furniture and more about training your brain to switch into work mode.

What if it's the other way around? I made more money after going full couch setup, so maybe @abbyf79's table corner just worked for her brain.

My old setup was just a laptop on the bed. Felt like I was never really off the clock. Having a cheap desk from the thrift store made a huge difference for me.

I scored a busted old office chair from a garage sale for five bucks and it honestly changed the game more than I expected lol. Having a designated spot with a proper chair makes me sit up and actually get stuff done instead of slouching into nap mode. The laptop on bed life is rough because your brain just associates that spot with relaxing and scrolling. A thrift store desk plus any halfway decent chair does the trick way better than you'd think for separating work from chill time.
