My co-work share deal with a pal is making me uneasy
From what I can tell, more freelancers are sharing paid workspace logins to cut costs. My friend and I split a membership at a local spot. It saves money, but I know it's against their policy. Sometimes I wonder if we're taking advantage. I'm torn between saving cash and playing fair.

That "torn between saving cash and playing fair" feeling is real. I've seen setups like this where friends share accounts for streaming or apps. But with a real workspace, it's harder to hide. If the staff sees two people using one login, they could cut off your access. Then you lose both the spot and your cash. Also, if many people do this, the place might raise prices for honest users to cover costs.

Totally get this. My old coworking spot had a cafe where you needed to scan in, and they kicked out a guy who kept letting his buddy use his pass. The staff figured it out in like two days because both of them tried to book the same meeting room. Just ends up screwing it up for everyone.

Yeah, and once that happens, the staff starts watching everyone more closely. Makes the whole place feel less relaxed for people who are following the rules.
