Unpopular opinion: That trendy LED strip lighting is awful for late-night work sessions
Swapped it for a warm desk lamp and my eyes stopped straining.

Have you tried those smart bulbs that can change color temperature? I got a cheap one that goes from bright white to super orange-yellow. Cranking it to the warmest setting at night was a total game changer. It feels like a normal lamp but way easier on my eyes, no more of that LED headache. Makes reading notes way less awful when it's late.

Actually switching to warmer light after sunset really helped me too. I started using a blue light filter app on my laptop and f.lux on my desktop, which kinda does what @gray_hall4 described but for screens. It makes everything way more orange and soft, so my eyes don't feel fried after a long night.

I set up a schedule on my smart bulb so it starts cooling down the light around dinner time. By 9 PM it's already at that orange-yellow glow, and it makes a huge difference for late reading. It's less about the color itself and more about the gradual change, which seems to stop the eye strain before it even starts. Honestly, the best part is not having to remember to switch it manually every night.
