Pro tip: I finally got my home office to feel separate from my living space
Moved a bookshelf to split the room and hung a curtain rod, and now I can actually clock out at 5. Anyone else find a cheap way to make a visual barrier in a studio?

Yeah, that's smart. I used a cheap room divider from IKEA, the kind with the fabric panels. It doesn't block sound but just having that line in the sand for my eyes helps a ton. Makes my brain switch modes.

Try adding a specific scent to each side of that divider. Your brain starts linking the smell to the space, so the visual cue gets even stronger. It's a cheap trick that wires the habit deeper.

Huh, that's wild. I had a buddy try this with lavender spray on his work side and peppermint on the couch side, and he swore it actually helped him stop checking Slack after hours.

Honestly, it feels like we're overthinking this... a curtain is a curtain. Riverb13 is out here trying to scent-train us like dogs for a cubicle. My brain switches modes when I close the laptop, not when I walk past a plant mister.
