Serious question, has anyone else had their internet go out right before a deadline?

My provider in Austin had a 6-hour outage last Tuesday, which was the day before a client deliverable. I ended up having to pack up and work from a coffee shop for the whole afternoon. How do you guys handle backup plans for essential utilities?

Essential utilities" is a bit strong for internet.

But what do you consider essential then? For a lot of work, internet absolutely is a required utility now. How would you get that client file in without it?

My buddy's power went out for a whole day during finals week, so he just charged his laptop in his car and used his phone's hotspot.
