Bought a $300 standing desk converter and it actually saved my back after 2 weeks
I was always on the fence about those things, thinking they were just expensive hype. But after three days of lower back pain from sitting 10 hours straight on a deadline in my tiny apartment near downtown Austin, I caved and ordered one from Flexispot. Honestly, it feels like I can actually breathe now when I work, and the pain went away in like 10 days. Has anyone else tried one of these or found a cheaper hack that works just as well?

In my experience, the Flexispot line is pretty solid for the price point. I got the 42-inch model about 6 months ago and it's held up way better than I expected. The gas spring on mine still feels smooth after daily use, no sagging or wobble like some of the cheaper Amazon knockoffs I've seen in friend's offices. For a tight spot like your Austin apartment, the compact footprint is a big plus too. Your mileage may vary, but I found that pairing it with one of those cheap anti-fatigue mats from Home Depot made a noticeable difference for my knees after a few weeks.

Lower back pain is no joke, glad the converter worked for you after that brutal deadline. Ten hours straight in a tiny apartment is rough on anyone's body. Hopefully your back stays good now that you found something that helps.
