Unpopular opinion: working from a coworking space 5 days a week actually saved me money

I did the math on my home office costs - electricity, internet, coffee, and AC in the summer - and it came out to $340 a month. A hot desk at the local space is only $250, plus I don't have to buy my own printer paper. Has anyone else found their home office is secretly more expensive than they thought?

I work from home 3 days a week and my summer AC bill went up almost $80 those months, it's wild how fast it adds up. Did you factor in things like replacing your office chair or monitor eventually, or was it just monthly costs you looked at? Trying to figure out if coworking spaces really come out ahead long term.

Ugh the AC thing is SO real lol. I work from home full time and my summer electric bill went up like $120 one month. It's not just the AC either, I'm running my computer and lights all day too. And you're totally right about the equipment thing, I had to replace my chair last year and it was over $300. Plus my desk setup and the extra snacks and coffee I go through just being at home lol. I did a spreadsheet once and coworking came out close but I still felt like I came out ahead wfh because at least I'm not commuting or eating out for lunch.

Think you're forgetting, @laura_wilson, that coworking spaces include all that stuff in their price already.
