Choosing between Lisbon and Berlin for a six month move

I had to pick between Lisbon for the lower cost of living or Berlin for the bigger freelance network, and I went with Berlin about three months ago. It's been good for meeting people in my field, but the rent is way higher than I planned for. Anyone else find the community connections worth a tighter budget?

Honestly, the cheaper rent in Lisbon would have let you actually enjoy life more.

Yeah, that's a really good point from @ivanp78. When rent eats up all your money, there's nothing left for fun stuff... It just makes everything feel tight.

Tell you what, my budget is so tight right now I had to start calling my apartment a "networking hub" to feel better about the rent. I skipped a concert last week to afford groceries... but hey, I did meet a graphic designer in the laundry room. So the connections are there, if you count bonding over a broken dryer.
