I disagree that freelancer relocation means starting from scratch socially.
It pushed me to join communities I wouldn't have otherwise. Already made two great friends who introduced me to local clients!

Ever tried using local co-working spaces to meet fellow freelancers?

Yeah, the "dead silent like a library" thing is too real. I tried smiling at someone once and they just adjusted their noise-cancelling headphones. It somehow made me feel more alone than my empty apartment. I guess the vibe really depends on the specific space and day.

Wait, you actually meet people at those places? Last time I went, it was dead silent like a library. Everyone had headphones on and avoided eye contact. The whole point is to network, but it felt more isolated than my home office. And the monthly fees are crazy high for that kind of vibe. I don't get how it's worth it for freelancing connections.

Maybe the isolation is the point. If everyone's there to work, maybe the headphones and silence are a feature, not a bug. You get the structure of an office without the forced small talk. Robert_owens69 might have found the perfect spot. The high fee pays for a quiet desk and reliable wifi, not friendship. For some people, that's the whole goal.
