My Lisbon apartment wifi went down for 3 days right after I moved in

I just relocated here last month to freelance, and my whole setup depends on a solid connection. The router the landlord gave me just stopped working on a Tuesday morning. No warning, just dead. I had a client call scheduled for that afternoon and a project due by Friday. I spent like 2 hours trying to reset it, then had to find a local electronics store to buy a new one, which cost me 90 euros. The real kicker was figuring out how to explain the situation to the Portuguese ISP customer service with my terrible language skills. I ended up working from a cafe for two days, which killed my focus. Has anyone else had their work totally derailed by a basic utility failing in a new city? What's your backup plan?

Feel your pain, my router died mid-video call.

Maybe the router was trying to tell you something. Video calls are overrated anyway, a forced break can be good. Constant connection just burns people out. Sometimes tech failing is a lucky escape from another boring meeting.

Mila_murphy gets it, but cafes are a terrible backup plan for real work.
