Wasted $300 on a mail forwarding service that never actually forwarded anything

Signed up for a mail scanning service in South Dakota before I moved to Spain. Thought it would be a solid way to keep my US address for banking and taxes. Paid for the yearly plan upfront. Three months in and I still haven't seen a single piece of mail scanned. Called them four times. They keep saying 'next week'. Has anyone found a reliable service for this kind of thing or am I better off just using a friend's address?

My buddy tried that same thing and his mail ended up in a shredder instead of a scanner.

@owens.laura that shredder thing is actually not as common as people think. Most of these services do scan, they just take forever cause they're understaffed. I used a place called Traveling Mailbox for like 8 months before I realized they were holding my mail for two weeks before even touching it. When I finally got them on the phone, they said "next week" too. The problem is you're paying for a flat rate but they prioritize business accounts over individual ones. Might be worth asking your friend if they can just snap pics of the envelopes for you.

Yeah just ask your friend. Way less hassle than dealing with these sketchy services.
