My new smart scale tried to post my weight online

I was setting up the FitTrack Pro in my bathroom last Tuesday when it asked to connect to my social media for 'fitness challenges'. I hit skip, but an hour later my friend texted me asking why my weight was showing up in his feed from some app he'd never heard of. Has anyone else had a gadget share data you clearly told it not to?

That whole era was wild. My friend's toaster tried to post a bread review once. We've come a long way from appliances having meltdowns on main.

Actually, the toaster thing was a joke account someone made... it wasn't a real appliance glitch.
