Switched from plastic totes to clear bins after one rainy weekend

I always thought cheap black totes from the hardware store were fine until I had to dig through six of them to find my camping stove. Last Saturday I swapped everything for clear storage bins with locking lids and now I can see exactly what's where in 30 seconds flat. Has anyone else made the switch and found a better brand than the ones I grabbed?

Yeah totally, I did the same thing last spring after I couldn't find my extension cord for like an hour. The clear ones are such a game changer, I just grab what I need without pulling everything out. I picked up some Sterilite ones at Target and they've held up pretty well so far.

Oh wow, that's such a good point about the clear ones! I actually read somewhere that visibility is a huge factor in staying organized, like if you can't see it you forget you have it. I swear I wasted so much money on duplicate stuff before I switched to clear bins, lol. And yeah, Sterilite seems to be the go-to for a lot of people, I've had mine for a couple years and they're still going strong. It's crazy how something so simple makes life so much easier, right?

Clear bins made me realize how much stuff I'd just buried and forgot about like some kind of organized pack rat. Now I can see exactly how many half empty caulk tubes I'm hoarding from three different jobs. My wife calls it the "clear bin morgue" because nothing goes in and nothing comes out apparently. At least I can spot the duplicates before buying a fourth one. Sterling stuff is tough enough to survive my truck bed though, so that's something.
