Found a sweet banded agate today, and my stress just melted away
Honestly, I've had a lot on my mind recently. Tbh, hunting for rocks is my go-to for calm. Ngl, spotting those layers in the agate felt amazing. It's a small win, but it really lifted my mood. I'm already planning my next trip to the creek.

My spot near the old railroad bed gets super slick after rain. I started wearing those tall rubber boots and just accepting the mud as part of the deal. It stopped bothering me once I knew my shoes were meant for it. Now I keep an extra pair of socks and old jeans in the car for the drive home.

Totally get the mud struggle. What worked for me was using heavy duty trash bags over my shoes, which sounds silly but was a GAME CHANGER. No more wet socks or ruined pants since I just toss the bags after. Having backup clothes in the car is a great idea, and I do that too. Once you stop fighting the mud, the whole thing gets way more fun.

Honestly, the trash bag trick is genius (and way cheaper than what I tried). My move was getting some cheap rubber boots from the hardware store, kind of like what @thomas_campbell39 said. Once you have shoes you don't care about ruining, the stress just melts away. I also keep a plastic tub in the trunk for the muddy boots so my car stays clean. It makes the whole clean-up process way less of a headache after a good day out.
