Did a 3 month stretch of $8 gigs on a certain app

My earnings on TaskRabbit went from $22 an hour down to $11 after they changed the suggested pricing algorithm back in March, and now I get nothing but junk tasks like moving a single chair.

Man did they really screw over the good tasks or what? I used to pull decent money on that app now it's all garbage like helping someone hang a single picture. The suggested pricing thing killed it for me too, I swear the algorithm just wants you to work for peanuts. It's like they forgot people need to actually make a living wage.

I saw this article the other day about how gig apps are basically running experiments on us to see how low they can push the pay before people quit. It feels like they're just testing what we'll actually accept. Makes you wonder if they even look at what we used to earn.

Buddy of mine did Uber Eats for like two years straight and he said the same thing. He showed me his earnings history once and you could see the per trip pay just slowly drop over time. He finally quit when they offered him a 3 dollar trip to go like 8 miles in traffic.
