Hit $500 in a single weekend doing pet sitting and I still feel guilty about it
I charged my normal rates for a long holiday weekend and ended up making $500 from just three clients, which was more than I make in a week doing data entry. Has anyone else had a random gig pay way more than your main hustle and feel weird about it?

Oh man, the "feeling guilty" part really hit me. I did the exact same thing last summer where I housesat for a neighbor with three high maintenance dogs and made like $600 in a long weekend, which was more than my regular paycheck at the time. What helped me get over it was realizing that pet sitting on a holiday weekend is a premium service and people are happy to pay for peace of mind. I just told myself that my time and reliability are worth something, especially when pets need extra care during busy times. The guilt faded after I saw how grateful the owners were.

Yeah totally @samreed, once I stopped treating it like "easy money" and started seeing it as a real service I was providing, the guilt just kinda disappeared lol. I started charging what felt fair for the hassle and realized people actually appreciate when you're upfront about your rates.

Did your friend ever mention feeling weird about charging after seeing how much easier their life was compared to the owners? I had a coworker who watched a neighbor's two cats for a week and made $400, but she felt guilty until she realized they were saving like $800 compared to a kennel.
