Question about why overnight delivery drivers always skip my porch light

Ever since I moved to Phoenix three years ago, my late night deliveries usually land by the fence instead of the door, and I think it started when the app stopped showing pin drop locations because drivers just ignore the notes now, has anyone else seen their delivery spot creep further away over time?

Read an article about how delivery drivers get scored on time more than accuracy now, so they just toss packages wherever is fastest once they hit the stop. That explains why my stuff ends up near the driveway instead of the porch, especially at night when theyre rushing to finish their route. Your fence spot probably saves them thirty seconds versus walking to your door, and the notes field in the app is hidden behind three screens so nobody sees it anymore. The pin drop thing disappearing made it way worse since drivers used to follow that GPS marker right to the door. Does your house number actually show up from the street at night, or is it hard to see from the curb?

Does your porch light even work right now, or have you checked the bulb lately? I'm asking because if it's dim or dead, drivers might not see your house number and just default to the fence where they know it's safer. But even if it's bright, these apps have made it so drivers are timed down to the second, so a fence toss saves them twenty feet of walking. Have you tried taping a LED glow stick to your mailbox as a quick fix?
