Appreciation post: My back porch light fixed itself before I could touch it
That light has been dead since fall. I finally got around to buying a new bulb last Saturday. When I walked outside with it, the old light was just on. The switch was in the same spot I always leave it. Now it works like nothing was ever wrong. Kind of a win, I guess, since I saved a trip up the ladder. Still, makes you wonder what flips the switches when you aren't looking.

Yeah, stuff like that used to bug me. Now I just figure the house gets bored and decides to mess with the wiring sometimes. My coffee maker did something similar last month.

Used to think everything had a logical fix. Now I'm convinced houses just get moods. Mine definitely waits until I buy the part to start working again.

My old truck's radio would only play static for a whole year. The day I ordered a new one online, it came on clear as anything. I get what stella111 is saying about things messing with you, but I'm pretty sure it's just bad connections getting jostled. Vibration from slamming a door or even the weather changing can make a loose wire touch again for a while. It feels like magic, but it's usually just a crappy connection fixing itself by accident.
