I spent a year pronouncing 'epitome' as 'epi-tome' until my kid's teacher corrected me at a parent-teacher conference in October.

Ever try saying "segue" out loud? I used to think it was "seeg" for way too long. My trick now is to google the pronunciation before I use a word in a meeting, it saves the awkwardness later. What's the most surprising word you've heard someone mispronounce?
