Not buying the twin excuse for that repeat stranger sighting
People keep saying seeing the same person at the gas station and then the store is a glitch. They jump straight to the twin theory or simulation talk. I once noticed a guy with a very common jacket and hat in both places. It was just a busy day with lots of folks out. We should NOT ignore how ordinary stuff can look weird sometimes.

Yeah, the "twin excuse" thing gets old fast. I mean, laura_adams71's story about the green jacket and similar walk is exactly what I'm talking about. Our brains are just pattern-matching machines running on autopilot. I once saw a guy with the same red backpack at the grocery store and then at the pharmacy two blocks away. Spent like ten minutes convincing myself it was some kind of sign or glitch. Turns out red backpacks are just super common.

Remember rushing up to tap a guy's shoulder thinking it was my old coworker from three jobs ago. Turned out to be a total stranger who just had the same walk and a similar green jacket. Felt like a total fool, but it really showed me how our brains are just wired to spot familiar patterns, even when they're not really there.
