Driving cross-country for a rare part was a whole trip back then.

You'd stop at every small town shop and hear stories from old timers. Now I just order it online and wait for the mail.

Ordering online seemed smart until I missed the stories.

My local bookstore has a cat who sleeps in the history section, and that's a story you can't get online. You're right, @anthony197, the transaction isn't the whole thing.

Found a cat napping by the gardening books last week.

Bring up how those old timers also saved you from buying the wrong part. They'd tell you what mods fit better or which years had a common flaw. Online reviews just don't catch those hidden details.
