Nah, that's perfect! A vintage rifle should have a little character, not look like a factory new part.

Ugh, I totally disagree! A real piece of history should be kept as close to original as possible, not worn down. That "character" is just damage someone didn't fix.

Oh man, that's not really how it works... Value depends on the collector. Some guys want a perfect museum piece, others pay more for honest wear from real use. That "damage" tells the gun's story, and a lot of us find that way more interesting than something that sat in a safe forever.
