Just bedded my first rifle and saw a big accuracy boost, but now I'm caught in the pillar versus full bedding debate.
In my experience, the full bedding method worked well for this small win, but some folks swear by pillars for better stress handling, so what's your take?

Read a gunsmithing article that made a good point. It said full bedding can trap moisture against the metal, which is bad for wood. That's why you see those splits in wood stocks, like on old Mausers. Pillars keep things tight but let the wood breathe a bit. Seems like the best choice depends on what your stock is made of, right?

Honestly switched to pillars after seeing a friend's full bed job crack, idk maybe it just handles the recoil pulse better for me.

Full bedding's fine until you try a .300 Win Mag.

My buddy tried full bedding on his Ruger M77 last season. The stock split right behind the front action screw after about forty rounds. It basically turned into two pieces.
