PSA: The city crew on Elm Ave leaves their loaders idling for hours, it's ridiculous.

I mean, I get that breaks happen, but idk, maybe it's just me but watching diesel burn all day bugs me. They've been on this sewer line fix for a month now. Yesterday, one loader was just sitting there running from 7 AM to noon with no one near it. I tried talking to the foreman, and he shrugged it off like it's no big deal. It's not just the fuel waste, the noise is constant for folks living here. We're all trying to work from home or whatever, and it's a real headache. Honestly, feels like some basic operator sense is missing here.

Wait a loader was just running totally empty for five hours? lol what the actual heck, that's not a break, that's just laziness. No wonder you're going nuts with the noise all day. Someone should really turn a key off, it's not a hard thing to do.

How's that diesel exhaust affecting neighborhood health (just wondering)?

Actually, just read something scary about diesel fumes... they're way worse for you than regular car exhaust. All those tiny particles get deep in your lungs and can cause real problems over time. @haydenthomas is right to be annoyed about that loader idling for hours, because it's pumping out that bad air non-stop. Kids and older folks in the neighborhood are probably breathing that in all day. It's not just about noise, it's about what's in the air you're breathing... seems like someone should really do something about it. Like, turn the thing off when it's not doing any work.
