The amount of plastic waste I found on Eagle Peak Trail is disgusting.
If you can't pack out your trash, you shouldn't be allowed on the trails.

Ugh, that's so frustrating. I was just reading about how microplastics from that kind of litter are getting into everything, even the water up there. It's pure laziness, and it wrecks the place for everyone else. They should honestly hand out big fines to anyone caught leaving their junk behind.

Worst part is our taxes end up funding the cleanup.

My buddy went hiking last summer and found a whole pile of those single-use water bottles just tossed off the trail. He filled up his pack with them to carry out, but it totally ruined his trip. Honestly, seeing that mess up close just makes you so mad. It's like people forget other folks want to enjoy nature too, not look at their trash.

Seriously, if folks are too lazy to pack out their junk, they deserve a bill for the cleanup. Those microplastics don't just vanish; they end up in everything from mountain streams to our tap water. A hefty fine might work, but watching them scoop plastic bits out of a river would be better entertainment. Nothing like a little hands-on learning to cure laziness.
