Finally got my monitor setup right after 3 months of trying different arms

I swapped arms 4 times and returned two because they couldn't hold the weight or they sagged. This week I put up a simple gas spring arm from a local shop for $45 and it's been solid for 5 days now. No wobble when I type. Has anyone else had trouble finding an arm that actually works for a heavy monitor?

Gotta ask though, is a monitor really that heavy? Or is it more about getting the perfect angle for your neck?

Are you sure it's the weight and not the desk itself causing the problem? I've got a heavy 32 inch monitor on a cheap thirty dollar arm and it's been absolutely fine for over a year now. Maybe the issue is more about the desk material or how tight you're clamping it.
