My $400 standing desk broke after 8 weeks and I had to use milk crates as a temp fix
I bought this fancy sit-stand frame off Amazon back in March, really thought I did my homework on the reviews. The motor started grinding on week 6 and by week 8 it just stopped going up while I was mid-stand. I spent 2 days with my monitors balanced on old milk crates from the grocery store while waiting for a replacement part that never came. Ended up tossing the whole thing and building a fixed-height desk from a solid-core door and some heavy-duty brackets from Home Depot. Has anyone else had a motor fail that fast or did I just get super unlucky with this brand?

Milk crates are honestly a mood though. My old desk setup was a hollow core door on cinder blocks for like 2 years before I caved and bought something real. Served me better than any motorized junk I've seen.

Hollow core door? That's terrifying. One wrong sneeze and your whole setup collapses.

Least bouncy desk I ever had.
