That cheap monitor stand I almost returned actually fixed my neck pain
I spent $22 on some basic riser from Amazon last month, fully expecting it to wobble and waste my money. My setup was just a laptop on a stack of old cookbooks, which seemed fine for like a year. But after 10 hour days typing orders and schedules, my neck started killing me. I almost sent it back before even opening the box, figured it was another gimmick. Finally put it together out of boredom, and within three days the tension in my shoulders was just gone. It's literally a piece of metal and some plastic feet, nothing special. Does anyone else have a cheap fix that ended up being way more useful than you expected?

Take that same logic and apply it to your keyboard angle too. I grabbed a $10 wedge thing to tilt mine negative and the wrist pain that I thought was carpal tunnel just disappeared within a week.

Honestly, I disagree with the_rose on the keyboard angle thing. I tried a negative tilt wedge a few years back and it made my wrists feel worse, not better. I think posture problems are usually more about your whole setup, not just one piece. My cheap monitor stand worked great, but I also had to adjust my chair height and stop slouching to really fix the pain. A quick fix for one person might just give someone else a new ache. I say stick with what works for you and don't overthink it.

Did a buddy of yours actually get relief from flipping their keyboard, or did they just trade one ache for another?
