Three days straight of back pain from my chair
I sat in my old office chair for 12 hours last Tuesday and my lower back still hurts. Turns out the lumbar support broke six months ago and I just never noticed. Anyone else forget to check their gear until it's too late?

Man I feel that. My chair's lumbar support gave out last year and I spent a solid two weeks sitting on a folded up bath towel trying to fix it. Some of us just accept the pain until our bodies start sending angry memos. Guess that's what happens when you treat your gear like it'll last forever without ever checking on it.

I read somewhere that a good office chair should have its lumbar support checked every six months. @michael803 your bath towel fix is definitely a classic move, I had a friend who used a rolled up sweatshirt for weeks. I think we all get so used to the discomfort that we don't realize how bad it really is until something else makes us pay attention. Hope your back is feeling better by now.

Dude what's with the dramatics lol. It's back pain not a broken leg. Yeah it sucks sitting in a busted chair but you sat in it for 12 hours straight that's the real problem not the lumbar support. I've been using a chair with a cracked armrest for like two years and my back is fine. Maybe stand up and stretch once in a while instead of blaming the chair for your poor life choices.
