Showerthought: A guy at a coffee shop in Denver told me his rate was $150 an hour and I thought he was crazy
He was a web dev with 5 years experience and he showed me his booking calendar on his phone - it was full for 3 weeks straight. I had been charging $60 an hour and thinking that was the ceiling for our market. Has anyone else had a random stranger totally change their pricing perspective?

My buddy doubled his rate overnight after talking to some freelancer at a bar.

So my buddy went from charging whatever he was charging to double that, all because he had a drink with a stranger? That sounds like he was severely underpriced before that bar chat. Did he actually land a client at the new rate, or just get a confidence boost and a new number in his head?
