TIL that a $200 standing desk converter was a total bust for me
I bought a fancy standing desk converter last fall thinking it would fix my back pain from sitting all day. After three weeks, I realized it wobbled too much and I barely used it because I kept just sitting back down. Any advice on what actually works for people who have tried both standing desks and converters?

Wait, are you guys really dropping that kind of cash on a full standing desk when most people barely stick with the habit? The whole point of a converter is to test the waters cheap before committing, but you skipped that step. I been using a sturdy, non-electric converter for like two years now and its rock solid cause I dont lean on it or type super rough. Most back pain is from bad posture in your chair anyway, not lack of standing. Maybe yall need to fix your sitting setup before blaming the converter.

Sounds about right. My converter ended up as a very expensive monitor riser that collects dust. Back pain is still there but now I have a cool wobble feature I didn't pay for.

A standing desk frame from Flexispot sorted me out. Got one with memory settings so it actually goes to the right height every time. No more wobble, no more back pain.
