Flat rate nearly cost me $600 on a furniture build last month
I was in my garage in Portland building a custom dining table for a repeat client. I quoted flat rate at $1,200 thinking I knew how long it would take. Halfway through the second coat of epoxy, a bubble disaster happened and I had to sand everything down and start over. That extra 12 hours ate up my entire profit margin for the job. Has anyone else had a flat rate deal fall apart because of one stupid material issue that wasn't your fault?

Your epoxy supplier should be on the hook for that bubble issue if it was a bad batch, not you eating the whole loss alone.
