Used to skip sealing around ducts. A surprise high bill made me change.

Tell me about it! I skipped that for ages thinking it was no big deal. My furnace was running nonstop one winter and the bill was HUGE. I finally checked and found a giant gap where a duct met the floor vent. Sealing that one spot made a real difference in how warm the room felt. Learned my lesson the hard way too.

Hey, that giant gap you found is such a common issue. It's wild how much warm air just escapes through those spots. I had a similar problem where my living room was always cold no matter what. Checking all the ducts took some time but it was totally worth it. Now I make it a habit to look for leaks before winter hits. It saves so much money and keeps the house actually comfortable.
