Vent: Just found out my managed service provider was charging me $200 a month for a firewall I already owned
I was digging through my old equipment receipts last weekend and realized the SonicWall TZ300 sitting in my basement was the SAME model my MSP listed on their monthly bill. They charged me a $200 hardware lease fee for 18 months straight. I called them out on it and they just said 'sorry, system error.' I'm still pissed. Anyone else get caught paying for gear you already had?

Nah, you probably agreed to it in the contract though lol.

My buddy Mike had the same thing happen with his IT company but with a switch. He found a old invoice showing he bought a Cisco SG300 back in 2019 and they were still billing him $85 a month for it. When he called them out they tried to say it was a different model number or something. He ended up having to send them a photo of the serial number on the actual box to get them to finally stop charging him. Took like two weeks of back and forth and he was ready to lose his mind over it.
