Mailed a paper invoice last week and felt ancient

Found myself driving to the post office to send a client in Ohio a paper invoice because their email kept bouncing. Total invoice was $180 and I hand wrote the check number on the form like it was 1995. Anybody else have one old school holdout client who just refuses to use electronic payments?

Hold on, is this really that big of a deal? You wrote a check number on an invoice. That's not exactly chiseling a stone tablet. In my experience, a lot of these little old school things still work fine, they just feel weird. Your client probably doesn't care that much about the method as long as they get the invoice. Take this with a grain of salt, but maybe it's more about you feeling weird than them.

Oh man, yes, thank you! I had a client once freak out because I put a sticky note on their printed invoice with a quick note about a discount. They acted like I had ruined their whole filing system or something. Meanwhile, another client loves handwritten thank you notes tucked in with their bills. Idk, I think a lot of this stuff is just about personal style and what you're used to. Like you said, the invoice got paid either way, right?
