Appreciation post: found out the average freelancer works 47 nights a year past midnight

Saw that stat on a study from last year and it hit me - that's basically one extra month of night work. Makes me feel less alone staring at my screen at 2 AM lol. Any of you notice your best ideas come after midnight too?

Viola your friend Jenny's story reminds me of my cousin Marco who works as a freelance translator. He says his brain turns into a different person after midnight like he actually speaks better English at 2 AM than at 2 PM. But he also once emailed a client a draft that still had random Spanish words scattered through it because he was so tired. He woke up at 7 AM and saw the email sent at 3 AM and wanted to cry. Ended up telling the client he was experimenting with a bilingual stylistic choice. They bought it somehow.

Man, that stat is wild! My friend Jenny, she's a graphic designer, told me she once coded an entire logo for a client at 3 AM. She said it was like a lightning strike - just hit her out of nowhere. The client loved it, called it her best work ever. But she also said she accidentally sent the wrong file to a client once at 2 AM. Had to beg them not to open it. So yeah, late night ideas can be great, but they come with some risk. She started keeping a notepad next to her bed after that.

Haha @victorhernandez, did your cousin Marco get a second degree in smooth talking too?
